About the Project

We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our project.

BSD is a software product that supports substation design workflows using BIM and Autodesk Revit. The product combines engineering workflows with modern software technologies to help users design, model, and manage substation equipment and connectivity.

You will work closely with the Product Owner, developers, QA engineers, designers, and engineering/domain experts to turn business needs into clear and actionable product requirements.

You do not need to be an expert in substation design or Revit when joining. We expect you to learn the product and domain with the support of the team.

Responsibilities

1. Requirement Analysis

• Work with Product Owner and stakeholders to understand business needs and user problems.
• Gather, analyze, clarify, and document requirements.
• Break down high-level requirements into clear features and user stories.
• Identify missing information, dependencies, assumptions, and edge cases.
• Help the team reach a shared understanding before development starts.

2. User Stories & Acceptance Criteria

• Create and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Define functional behavior and expected system outcomes.
• Work with developers and QA to ensure requirements are clear and testable.
• Participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Clarify requirements during development and testing.

3. Business Process & Workflow Analysis

• Analyze existing user workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Create process flows, use cases, and simple diagrams where appropriate.
• Understand how users interact with the BSD product.
• Identify differences between the desired business workflow and the current product behavior.
• Help define intuitive workflows for engineering users.

4. Product & Domain Learning

• Learn the BSD product and substation design domain.
• Develop an understanding of:
• Substation design
• Physical design
• Basic BIM / Revit concepts
• Prior experience in these areas is a plus, but not mandatory. You will work directly with experienced team members and domain experts to build this knowledge.

5. Collaboration with Technical Team

• Work closely with developers to clarify functional requirements.
• Understand technical constraints and their impact on business requirements.
• Collaborate with QA to define appropriate test scenarios.
• Work with UI/UX designers to translate workflows into usable product experiences.
• Communicate requirements across technical and business stakeholders.

6. Testing & Validation

• Review implemented features against requirements.
• Support QA during functional testing.
• Participate in UAT and feature demonstrations.
• Help investigate reported issues and determine whether they are:
• Requirement gaps
• Product defects
• Expected behavior
• New requirements
• Validate that implemented functionality solves the original user problem.

7. Documentation

Maintain appropriate project documentation, including:

• User stories
• Acceptance criteria
• Functional requirements
• Business rules
• Process flows
• Use cases
• Product/domain glossary
• Feature documentation

The BA should keep documentation clear, practical, and useful rather than creating documentation for its own sake.

Requirements

Must Have

• 1–2 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Basic understanding of BA fundamentals:
• Requirement elicitation
• Requirement analysis
• User stories
• Acceptance criteria
• Business rules
• Process analysis
• Stakeholder management
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum.
• Exposure to working with software development teams (internships or projects count).
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence (or equivalent tools).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to learn and understand a new product/domain quickly.

Nice to Have

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• BIM / Autodesk Revit / CAD
• Engineering software
• Construction / infrastructure software
• Manufacturing software
• Technical products
• Data-driven applications
• API / system integration
• JSON / XML
• SQL
• Figma

Candidates do not need to have all of these skills.
