About the Role

Our client, a China-based ocean container freight forwarder (FCL/LCL), is building its direct-shipper sales team in Vietnam/in Indonesia . We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Ocean Container Sales Manager based in Hanoi to own the full sales cycle — from lead generation and RFQ to rate negotiation, shipment follow-through and account growth. This is a hunter role measured on new direct shipper accounts, TEU volume and gross margin, reporting to the headquarters in Tianjin, China.

What You'll Do

Develop and execute a sales plan to acquire new direct shipper accounts (exporters, importers, manufacturers, traders) in Vietnam and grow existing accounts
Sell ocean container freight services: FCL, LCL, consolidation, customs coordination, local drayage and value-added logistics services
Prepare competitive quotations, negotiate rates with carriers and NVOCC partners, and close contracts
Maintain a disciplined pipeline and CRM; provide accurate sales forecasts to headquarters
Coordinate with operations, documentation and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution and high client retention
Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs and client meetings
Report KPIs (new accounts, TEU volume, gross margin) to headquarters on a regular basis

What We're Looking For

4+ years in freight forwarding or logistics sales, with hands-on ocean container (FCL/LCL) experience
Proven track record of developing direct shipper accounts and growing container volume / gross margin
Strong negotiation and quotation skills; comfortable with Incoterms, basic documentation (bill of lading, customs) and carrier / NVOCC rate management
Professional working proficiency in Mandarin for daily coordination with the China HQ; working proficiency in English
Legal right to work in Vietnam (no visa sponsorship available)/in Indonesia
Willingness to travel within the region as needed

Nice to Have

Vietnamese language skills/Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) language skills
Existing network of shippers, importers or forwarders in Vietnam/in Indonesia
Experience with NVOCC, consolidation, reefer or project cargo
University degree in logistics, international trade, business or a related field
