Finance Leadership & Governance
- Lead the Finance function in Vietnam, covering accounting, tax, treasury, statutory reporting, and internal controls.
- Partner closely with local management to provide financial insights, analyze variances, and support operational decision-making.
- Develop and strengthen the Controlling/FP&A function by mentoring the FP&A team member and ensuring high-quality budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis.
- Serve as the primary finance liaison for external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities during audits, statutory reviews, and inspections.
- Drive continuous improvement of internal controls and processes, ensuring full compliance with group policies and local regulations.
Financial Accounting & Operations
- Collaborate with global and regional finance teams to ensure timely submission of company financial reporting packages and management reports in accordance with IFRS.
- Ensure full compliance with Vietnam statutory requirements and corporate accounting policies.
- Oversee AR and AP processes, including invoice verification, SAP postings, VAT invoicing, and issue resolution; perform hands-on transactional tasks when required.
- Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and periodic SAP reconciliations.
- Lead month-end closing activities, journal entries, and reconciliations between the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
- Oversee cash flow and banking operations, including forecasting, payment scheduling, and daily bank reconciliations.
Tax Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with Vietnam tax regulations, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT), and other applicable taxes.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings; coordinate with external tax agents when necessary.
- Support CIT finalization, VAT refund procedures, and responses to tax authority inquiries.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their financial impact; provide proactive recommendations to mitigate tax risks.
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinate with banks regarding payments, loan management, interest calculations, foreign currency transactions, and deposits.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (ACCA, VACPA) are advantageous.
- 58+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or tax; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS) with exposure to IFRS.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO).
- In-depth understanding of Vietnam tax regulations (VAT, CIT, FCT).
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Experience leading a small team is an advantage.
