Finance Business Partner

Position Summary

The Finance Business Partner supports Enterprise Digital (STEED) by providing financial analysis, reporting, project finance support, and business partnering services. The role works closely with business stakeholders, Project Managers, Operations Support teams, and Shared Services to support financial planning, reporting, project governance, and month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering Support

• Support business stakeholders with financial information and analysis to aid decision-making.
• Assist in preparing financial presentations, management reports, and business review materials.
• Build working relationships with Project Managers, Operations teams, and Shared Services teams.
• Support discussions on project profitability, cost control, and financial performance.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and periodic financial updates.
• Perform variance analysis on revenue, margins, operating expenses, and project performance.
• Support financial modelling and ad-hoc analysis for management decision-making.
• Monitor financial trends and highlight potential risks or opportunities.

Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and dashboards.
• Support management reporting requirements for STEED and Enterprise Digital.
• Ensure reporting deadlines are met with accurate and reliable data.
• Assist in analysing business performance and explaining financial variances.

Project Finance Support

• Support project financial monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in project setup, WBS maintenance, billing coordination, and project reporting activities.
• Track project costs, revenue, and profitability.
• Work with Project Managers and Operations Support teams to ensure financial information remains accurate and up to date.

Month-End Closing & Financial Control

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing accruals, provisions, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with Shared Services and Financial Reporting teams on closing matters.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.

Governance & Compliance

• Support audits and internal review activities.
• Assist in reviewing financial data for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
• Support compliance with Group policies and Delegation of Authority requirements.

Process Improvement & Automation Support

• Support finance process improvement initiatives.
• Assist in automation and digitalisation projects to improve reporting and operational efficiency.
• Maintain and update SOPs, process documentation, and reporting templates.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities within the finance function.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or equivalent.

Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Project Finance, Finance Operations, or Business Partnering.
• Experience in project-based, technology, digital, engineering, or services industries will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is advantageous.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of Power BI or data analytics tools is a plus.
