Field Services Engineer

Job Summary

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of UIC equipment at customer sites. The role requires direct interaction with customers to ensure machine performance, minimize downtime, and provide high-quality service support. The engineer will also support new machine installation, FAT/SAT activities, customer training, and preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, setup, and commissioning of UIC equipment at customer sites.
• Carry out troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Support machine buyoff, FAT, SAT, and qualification activities.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
• Analyse machine issues and coordinate with regional/global technical teams for resolution.
• Prepare service reports, troubleshooting reports, and customer visit documentation.
• Support spare parts recommendation and service proposals.
• Work closely with customers to improve machine uptime and performance.
• Participate in customer training and technical guidance.
• Travel to customer sites within Thailand and overseas when required.
• Support urgent escalation cases and critical customer line-down situations.
• Coordinate installation activities with project teams and internal stakeholders.
• Follow company safety, quality, and service procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in equipment service support, preferably semiconductor, SMT, automation, or industrial machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting skill in mechanical, electrical, and software-related machine issues.
• Experience in machine installation and customer-facing service support.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Able to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Willing to travel frequently, including overseas training and support assignments.
• Strong customer service mindset and problem-solving ability.
• Able to work independently under pressure.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with UIC equipment is plus point / Inserter / Automation equipment / or any Pick and Place equipment platform. 
• Knowledge of production line integration and manufacturing process.
• Familiar with PLC, servo systems, vision systems, and machine networking.
• Experience handling key customers in electronics manufacturing.

Additional Requirements

• Must possess valid passport.
• Able to support weekend / off-hour emergency service when required.
• Able to work onsite at customer locations for extended periods during installation projects.
