Job Description

ABOUT CHANBYT

Chanbyt Company Limited is a Ho Chi Minh City-based apparel and fashion company, founded in 2021, shipping worldwide. Chanbyt is transforming into a multi-faceted apparel enterprise, combining design and manufacturing capabilities across three in-house brands: Chanbyt Chaco (social, hangout, modern), Chanbyt Chara (banquet, ceremony, solemn), and Chanbyt Chawo (office, workplace, professional).

We are looking for a Fabric Sourcing & Development Assistant to work directly with and support the Fashion Design Manager. This role helps turn design concepts into finished garments by sourcing the right fabrics, developing materials, and supporting design execution across the Chaco, Chara, and Chawo brand lines.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Fabric Sourcing (key accountability)

  • Search, evaluate, and shortlist fabric and trim suppliers that match design requirements, quality standards, and cost targets, continuously expanding the supplier network.
  • Request and track fabric quotations, minimum order quantities (MOQs), lead times, and samples from suppliers; negotiate optimal pricing, payment terms, and lead time.
  • Create purchase orders (POs) and continuously track production and delivery progress of materials, ensuring 100% of materials arrive at the warehouse on schedule per the production plan.
  • Build and maintain an organized fabric/trim library and supplier database, keeping pricing data and procurement cost records accurate and transparent.
  • Coordinate fabric delivery schedules to keep design and production timelines on track.

Material Development

  • Support testing and evaluation of new fabrics, trims, and materials for quality, durability, and suitability.
  • Track the sample approval process (lab-dips, strike-offs, color charts, hand-feel) and verify fabric specifications match design standards before mass production.
  • Assist in developing material specifications and technical data sheets for each collection; track development progress, sample approvals, and revisions with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with QC to inspect incoming material quality; proactively work with suppliers to resolve issues such as fabric defects, shortages, or delays.
  • Research emerging and sustainable materials relevant to Chanbyt's brand positioning.

Fashion Design Support (30%)

  • Assist the Fashion Design Manager in translating design concepts into technical packages and mood boards.
  • Support sketching, trend research, and reference collection for Chaco, Chara, and Chawo collections.
  • Help prepare and organize design presentations and seasonal collection plans.
  • Coordinate with pattern-making and sample rooms to ensure design intent is accurately executed.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and generate new product ideas that best align with market trends.
  • Oversee and manage the process from design ideation through production to the final product.
  • Create sketches for design plans, selecting colors, materials, and layout for upcoming products.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of practical experience in fabric/textile material sourcing and development, apparel sourcing, merchandising, or material development.
  • Solid understanding of fabric characteristics, fiber composition, dyeing/weaving processes, and garment trims and accessories.
  • Good negotiation, organizational, and follow-up skills for working with multiple suppliers.
  • Basic English: strong reading comprehension of spec sheets and technical fabric documents, and able to communicate with overseas suppliers.
  • Highly proactive and responsible under pressure - decisive in tracking progress, and solution-focused when supply issues arise rather than passively waiting for direction.
  • Proficient in office software, especially strong Excel skills for data management; familiarity with design tools (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, CLO 3D).
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working closely with a design manager in a fast-paced, production environment.
  • Able to apply AI tools to daily workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Photography and short-video shooting skills are a plus.

WHAT WE OFFER

Benefits & Career Development

  • Social, health, and unemployment insurance per Vietnamese Labor Law.
  • 13th-month salary (subject to company performance)
  • Direct mentorship from the Fashion Design Manager cum CEO
  • Hands-on exposure to the full product development cycle
  • Opportunity to grow alongside an expanding in-house fashion brand portfolio (Chaco, Chara, Chawo)
  • A fast-scaling, transformation-stage company
  • Young, dynamic team environment

Work-Life Balance

  • 15 days of paid time off (PTO) per year, including 3 days of paid sick leave
  • Comfortable working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (early check-out available)
  • Work schedule: Monday – Friday (Saturday mornings only on special occasions)
  • Flexible work arrangement: remote or on-site

Others

  • Allowances for transportation, meals, and phone
  • Free snacks and coffee in the office
  • Staff discounts on company products
  • Holiday/Tet gifts and vouchers

Monthly Salary: VND 8,000,000 – 12,000,000 (based on experience)
