The primary purpose of the Direct Sourcing Engineer role is to manage and execute daily sourcing activities, lead procurement processes, and drive cost improvement initiatives across the indirect procurement supply base in Molex Vietnam. The role also requires maintaining compliance with sourcing policies while fostering supplier relationships.
Our Team
As a Sourcing Engineer you will be part of the DSS division at Molex Vietnam, reporting directly to the Sourcing Manager. You will work closely with internal department users, stakeholders, and external suppliers to ensure efficient procurement operations and alignment with business needs.
What You Will Do
- Manage daily sourcing activities, including handling open requisitions, to fulfill business requirements.
- Lead procurement processes by collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet operational goals.
- Proactively identify and implement ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness in sourcing activities.
- Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, supplier base, and cost elements.
- Identify opportunities for cost improvement, such as vendor consolidation, volume leveraging, and negotiation strategies.
- Recruit, evaluate, and select suppliers through market sourcing, risk analysis, and competitive contract negotiations, utilizing tools like sealed bidding and auctions.
- Collaborate with Global Category Management to negotiate supplier agreements and develop contracts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, sourcing policies, and preferred supplier agreements.
- Safeguard confidential and sensitive business information appropriately.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular Supplier Business Reviews.
- Contribute to other sourcing projects and tasks as assigned by the Sourcing Manager.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supply chain role with a focus on sourcing.
- High integrity and professionalism in all aspects of work.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP SRM, SAP Ariba, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Experience optimizing sourcing strategies to improve cost and efficiency.
