Job Description: The Electric Vehicle Energy Management Attribute Lead Engineer, a highly skilled and experienced Energy Management CAE Simulation Lead Engineer to lead simulation and analysis activities focusing on vehicle energy efficiency, powertrain energy flow, and system optimization using tools like AVL CRUISE (preferably CRUISE M). The candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and executing energy models across different vehicle platforms (IC engine, hybrid, BEV, PHEV), supporting system architecture definition, energy flow analysis, and vehicle-level energy optimization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed energy flow and energy balance models of the full vehicle (powertrain, driveline, auxiliaries, HVAC, electrical subsystems, etc.)
- Support system architecture development and perform trade-off studies between energy efficiency, performance, thermal constraints, and drivability
- Collaborate with system engineering, calibration, controls, and powertrain design teams to provide actionable insights from simulation results
- Validate simulation models with test data (chassis dyno, track, component test benches)
- Drive energy efficiency target setting at vehicle, system, and component level based on simulation results
- Build and maintain energy management simulation libraries and ensure modular, scalable models for multiple platforms
- Provide technical mentorship and training to junior CAE engineers in energy simulation methodologies
- Interface with vehicle attribute teams (thermal, performance, range, emissions) to ensure target achievement
- Participate in global benchmarking and competitive analysis of energy performance using public and internal data
- Contribute to R&D and technology roadmap activities in energy management and simulation tools
Professional Experience Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in CAE simulation for vehicle energy systems
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using AVL CRUISE / AVL CRUISE M for full vehicle or subsystem modeling
- Deep understanding of energy flow, fuel economy simulation, WLTP/NEDC/FTP drive cycles
- Experience in BEV/PHEV energy modeling and powertrain efficiency mapping
- Strong familiarity with vehicle systems architecture (powertrain, EDS, HVAC, thermal systems)
- Experience working in OEM or Tier-1 automotive environment
- Exposure to multi-domain co-simulation with MATLAB/Simulink, Amesim, or GT-SUITE – desirable
- Familiarity with model validation techniques, correlation with physical tests, and test instrumentation – desirable
- Understanding of vehicle attribute development (range, performance, thermal protection) – a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Proven leadership in cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to drive simulation-based decisions
- Passion for energy efficiency and sustainable mobility Tools and Platforms
