Job Summary

The Project Director will oversee the end-to-end development of a large-scale, ultra-luxury coastal resort project. The Project Director will work closely with executive leadership, the commercial team, and the international hotel operator to ensure successful, on-schedule, and on-budget project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management: Lead and direct the onsite construction management team, main contractors, PMC consultants, and design specialists.
Operator & Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary operational and technical point of contact with the ultra-luxury international hotel operator.
Construction & Quality Control: Guide site teams on advanced construction methodologies, quality assurance standards, and efficient site operations.
Procurement & Tender Management: Oversee tender evaluation, review technical submissions, manage commercial contracts, and drive value-engineering initiatives with key stakeholders.
Scheduling & Strategy: In coordination with Design, Procurement, FF&E, OS&E, and operator teams.
Site Administration & Risk Management: Chair weekly site progress meetings, implement project control systems (shop drawings, material approvals, RFIs, method statements), and maintain active risk management updates.
Authority & Community Relations: Collaborate with internal licensing teams and local authorities; manage and resolve neighbor or community-related site matters proactively.
Reporting & Governance: Provide direct progress, financial, and strategic reporting to the Board of Directors and key investors.

Qualifications & Requirements

Native English speaker or native-level fluency
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience Level:

Minimum 15 years of continuous experience in the construction industry, with a heavy concentration in luxury hotels and resorts.
Minimum 5 years of working experience within Vietnam.
Proven track record of delivering at least one major hospitality project ($100M+ total project value) from inception through to completion as Senior Project Manager or Construction Director.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and basic AutoCAD.
Experience with enterprise EDMS/Project Management software (e.g., Aconex, Asite, Conject, or similar).
Thorough working knowledge of standard international contracts (FIDIC) and formal project correspondence procedures.
Familiarity with core hotel MEP, IT, and PMS infrastructure systems is highly preferred.

Work Style & Flexibility: Willingness to relocate to/near the project site, travel to corporate offices as required by business needs, and maintain flexibility for extended work hours during critical operational phases.
