Direct Sales Engineer
Role Purpose:
The Direct Sales Engineer is responsible for driving revenue growth by directly engaging with customers, identifying needs, and providing tailored product or service solutions. This role plays a critical part in expanding the customer base, strengthening market presence, and ensuring a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive sales activities and relationship management.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and approach new customers through field visits, cold calls, business networking, trade shows, and direct sales activities.
- Consult and propose suitable solutions/products to meet customer needs and deliver value.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate terms, and close deals in alignment with company policies.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business.
- Achieve quarterly revenue targets and contribute to business growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Application Engineer, Supply Chain, Service Engineer, Marketing, Finance) to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Understand customer maintenance plan, application mapping, market insights to support strategic decisions.
- Prepare sales activity reports as required by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience in selling industrial products, solutions or consumable supply, plus 2 years of experience in managerial level.
- Proven track record of results and exceeding sales goals with a must-win / can-do attitude and direct sales mindset.
- Familiar with C4C system
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Email)
- Extensive traveling - Willing to travel every week.
- Strong customer focus and drive to discover and meet the needs of customers.
- Ability to actively engage with customers (decision maker, purchasing, maintenance).
- Excellent at closing sales opportunities and key business proposals, with a strong focus on value-based selling.
- Demonstrate a high degree of learning agility, actively learn and share knowledge, develop self and others.
- Self-motivated, demonstrating initiative to set priorities, work plan, and schedule to achieve goals.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and well-organized.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Good command in English both spoken and written.
