About The Role

As a Development Process Engineer (DPE), you will play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts for new product introduction (NPI) and product transfer projects, guiding them from early development through to mass production (MP). You will lead the technical coordination of tooling/die, automation, product engineering, and plant engineering teams to ensure that quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Leading & Coordinating New Product Launches (NPI / MT Phase)

  • Design and develop manufacturing processes across all stages (Stamping, Molding, Plating, Assembly, Packaging).
  • Prepare Design for Manufacturing (DFM) documentation for all processes and tooling.
  • Lead kick-off meetings with suppliers, Product Design (PD), Project Management (PJM), and process design teams to align on tooling and component DFM.
  • Build and drive the master project plan, aligning cross-functional teams to project milestones including trial, First Article Inspection (FAI), Q-run, New Product Release (NPR), customer samples, and mass production.
  • Prepare materials and components required for debugging and trial processes.
  • Lead process optimization and improvement initiatives to meet Global Component Approval (GCA) design standards.
  • Lead FAI evaluations and liaise with the Molex CCS Development Center on product design feedback and change requests.
  • Prepare reports for NPR meetings and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) releases.
  • Design packing specifications for all manufacturing processes.

Leading & Coordinating Transferred Product Launches

  • Create technical documentation for product transfer procedures.
  • Request and review transfer documentation (technical specs, packing lists) from source sites (e.g., Japan).
  • Coordinate with QC, After-Sales (AS), and MD teams to align on project schedules for trial, FAI, Q-run, and customer samples.
  • Prepare materials and components for debugging and trial runs, and build trial plans in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare FAI/Q-run reports, customer sample production, and support Product Change Notice (PCN) reporting.
  • Design packing specifications for all transfer processes.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Stamping, Plating, Molding, and Assembly processes, with the ability to develop new processes and set up new production lines from concept to mass production.
  • Lead and coordinate functional engineering teams (Stamping, Plating, Molding, Assembly) throughout development and product transfer activities.
  • Serve as the key liaison with the Molex CCS Development Center on new product development, transfers, trial requests, and quality matters.
  • Issue packing standards for all processes and participate in FAI, Q-run, and quality evaluations.
  • Manage and resolve 4M changes, PCNs, and ECNs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience as a Product Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Engineer, or Project Lead, with hands-on involvement in new product launch processes strongly preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes across multiple disciplines.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., NX or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English required; Japanese language skills are a plus.
  • High level of integrity, initiative, accountability, carefulness, and honesty.
  • Strong willingness to learn and share knowledge with others.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
