Job Description
Country Manager – Vietnam
Role Summary
Lead Medochemie's business in Vietnam; shape and drive the strategy that grows our generics portfolio, spanning both imported products from our European (EU GMP-accredited) Manufacturing sites and locally manufactured medicines in our modern facilities in Vietnam. Build a high-performing, commercially agile organisation that positions Medochemie as a trusted, forward-looking partner in Vietnam's healthcare market.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the P&L and set the strategic direction for Medochemie in Vietnam, balancing near-term commercial performance with sustainable, long-term market growth
- Drive an integrated go-to-market strategy across both imported and locally manufactured products, leveraging Medochemie's dual model as a competitive edge in the generics space.
- Build a modern, data-informed commercial engine, using market insight and performance analytics to sharpen targeting, channel strategy, and resource allocation
- Champion a customer/patient-centric, partnership-based approach with distributors, key accounts, and healthcare stakeholders, moving beyond transactional selling toward long-term value creation
- Shape pricing and commercial terms that protect margin while strengthening Medochemie's competitive position in a fast-evolving generics market
- Build, coach, and empower a high-performing local team, instilling a culture of accountability, initiative, and continuous improvement
- Ensure the country business operates with strong governance, compliant with company policy and local regulatory standards, while staying agile enough to move quickly on opportunity
- Represent Medochemie externally with confidence, engaging regulators, industry bodies, and healthcare stakeholders to build the company's profile and credibility in-market
- Partner closely with regional and HQ leadership, contributing local market insight to shape broader group strategy, and report regularly to the Chief Commercial Officer
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related science field; a postgraduate qualification in business or marketing is a strong plus
- 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years leading commercial operations at a senior or country-management level
- A track record of driving growth in a generics or multi-source market, ideally with exposure to both manufacturing and distribution models
- A modern, growth-oriented leadership style — someone who leads with data, builds strong teams, and challenges the status quo rather than simply maintaining it
- Strong commercial acumen paired with the agility to operate in a fast-changing, competitive healthcare landscape
- Fluent English (written and verbal); strong digital literacy across standard business tools
- A self-starter mentality — comfortable operating with autonomy and driving outcomes in a matrixed, international organisation
