Costing Accountant

JOB PURPOSE:

• Responsible for production costs, monitoring cost variances, supporting budgeting and financial analysis activities, and partnering with other departments to improve profitability and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To perform the month-end costing process, including collecting and allocating material, labor and manufacturing overhead costs, checking the costing results, and recording related accounting entries.
• To monitor and reconcile WIP, finished goods, cost of goods sold and inventory data among reports, the ERP system and accounting records, and coordinate the resolution of significant differences.
• To control standard cost and actual cost, analyze key material, labor and manufacturing overhead variances, and report the main causes and follow-up points.
• To review the reasonableness of BOM, routing/IE time and standard costing data, and work with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Warehouse and IT when there are changes or data differences.
• To prepare costing and inventory reports as required, take part in physical inventory counts, review slow-moving inventory, and prepare supporting data for management, audit or tax purposes.
• To check and approve manual GI/GR adjustment entries in the SAP system.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of direct cost accounting experience in a manufacturing company.
• Solid understanding of BOM, standard cost, actual cost, WIP, finished goods, COGS and manufacturing cost allocation principles.
• Experience in month-end costing, inventory reconciliation and handling differences between operational data and accounting data.
• Good at Excel and experienced in using an ERP system. Knowledge of SAP Business One, Power Query or MES is an advantage.
• Good analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and able to work effectively with other departments. Able to use English for emails and basic work communication.
