CIVIL ENGINEER / SITE MONITORING ENGINEER

HCMC Metro Line 2 – Construction Monitoring

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Salary: VND 20,000,000 – 45,000,000 gross/month, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall suitability. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a higher salary by negotiation.

Preferred Age: 25–45

Working Hours: Normally 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Working Schedule: Approximately 4 days off per month, arranged according to project requirements

Overtime: Overtime compensation or time-off-in-lieu will be discussed and agreed separately.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will support construction monitoring activities for Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2.

The role focuses on ensuring that construction monitoring activities are carried out effectively, including regular site visits and day-to-day monitoring.

Depending on the candidate's background and language capability, the role may also involve translation, communication, and coordination. However, these are supporting responsibilities and are not the primary purpose of the position.

Key Responsibilities

Support construction monitoring activities for the HCMC Metro Line 2 project.
Conduct regular site visits and perform day-to-day monitoring as required.
Support the smooth implementation of monitoring activities and assist in resolving issues arising during project execution.
Communicate and coordinate with relevant project personnel and other stakeholders.
Provide translation and communication support where necessary, particularly Chinese–Vietnamese or English–Vietnamese.
Assist with communication of project-related information between teams and support site coordination when required.
Apply civil engineering, surveying, or construction knowledge to support project monitoring.
Develop familiarity with project-specific technical terminology where required.
Carry out other project-related duties necessary for effective construction monitoring.

Note: This is not primarily a translation role. Translation and site coordination are supplementary responsibilities.

General Requirements

Relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, or a related field; or an educational background in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Candidates with a surveying background are particularly preferred.
Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working regularly at construction sites.
Able to adapt to project requirements and actual site schedules.
