About the Role

We are seeking a self-driven and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting and finance operations for our Vietnam entity. Operating largely independently, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and local regulatory requirements, while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to both the local Director and the Group Finance team at our headquarters in Singapore. This role is well-suited to a candidate who is comfortable working autonomously and is experienced in managing cross-border reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Full Set of Accounts

Manage the full set of accounts for the Vietnam entity independently, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries
Process and review staff claims and reimbursements in accordance with company policy
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounting records in accordance with local requirements
Undertake any other accounting and finance duties as assigned by management from time to time

Financial Reporting

Prepare and submit monthly management accounts and financial reports to HQ Finance in Singapore, ensuring alignment with group reporting requirements and timelines
Prepare monthly financial reports for review by the local Director, providing clear commentary on financial performance
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are properly supported on a monthly basis
Support any additional reporting requirements as directed by HQ Finance or senior management from time to time

Local Compliance & Regulatory Filing

Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and all applicable local statutory and regulatory requirements
Manage the preparation and timely submission of corporate tax, VAT, and other statutory filings in accordance with Vietnamese tax regulations
Liaise with local tax authorities, auditors, and relevant government bodies as required
Monitor changes in local regulatory and tax requirements and update internal processes accordingly
Assist with any other compliance or regulatory matters that may arise in connection with the company's business activities in Vietnam

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

Maintain and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records
Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and operational effectiveness
Support the standardisation of accounting procedures in alignment with group policies and guidelines
Participate in finance-related projects or initiatives as required by the organisation

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Professional accounting qualification is an advantage

Experience

4 to 6 years of relevant accounting experience, with demonstrated ability to handle a full set of accounts independently
Prior experience reporting to an overseas headquarters, preferably in Singapore, is required
Solid working knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and local tax and statutory compliance requirements
Experience with IFRS or group consolidation reporting is an advantage
Prior external audit experience is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical accounting knowledge with meticulous attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a lean team environment
Strong communication skills in both Vietnamese and English, with the ability to liaise effectively with overseas stakeholders
Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines in a structured and timely manner
Adaptable and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving business environment
