Chief Accountant

We are hiring | Chief Accountant

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join AsiaLabs as Chief Accountant.

This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Group CEO / General Director, with responsibility for leading the accounting team to maintain accurate books, timely closing, tax compliance, effective cash flow management, financial controls, and reliable management reporting.

The Chief Accountant will take a hands-on role in reviewing the team's work, resolving material accounting issues, and providing management with clear explanations of financial results and significant exceptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team, assign responsibilities, review key outputs, and coach team members.

• Manage month-end and year-end closing, including the review of reconciliations, accruals, inventory, fixed assets, and payroll-related accounting.

• Review monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports, with clear explanations of material variances against budget or prior periods.

• Review weekly revenue performance and reconcile operational revenue with accounting and invoicing records, investigating exceptions where required.

• Review and maintain a rolling two-week cash flow forecast, recommend payment priorities, and escalate potential funding gaps.

• Monitor AR ageing and overdue debts with Sales, and review AP schedules and supporting payment documents before submission to the authorized approver.

• Oversee compliance with Vietnamese accounting standards and applicable accounting and tax regulations, including the review of tax filings and statutory financial statements.

• Coordinate statutory audits and tax inspections, ensuring outstanding documents, queries, and corrective actions are properly followed up.

• Provide reviewed local reporting schedules, intercompany reconciliations, and USD reporting inputs using agreed Group templates.

• Support annual budgeting with historical data and departmental cost inputs, flag material cost variances, and provide cost data for pricing or investment reviews when requested.

• Oversee accounting use of MISA AMIS, including data quality and accounting control requirements.

• Support reporting automation and AI initiatives by defining accounting requirements and validating outputs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing.

• Chief Accountant Certificate.

• Minimum five years of experience as a Chief Accountant, with strong team management and review skills.

• Practical experience in closing, tax compliance, statutory audits, and cash flow management.

• Strong knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards and applicable accounting and tax regulations.

• Ability to review financial reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.

• Working proficiency in English for emails, reporting explanations, and discussions with management.

• Good Excel skills and experience using accounting software.

Preferred

• Experience with MISA AMIS, overseas management reporting, or multiple legal entities.

• Working knowledge of IFRS and Group reporting requirements.

• Experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or foreign-invested company.

• Experience improving accounting processes and using reporting automation.
