We're an AI-first builder giving underdog companies a new lease of life with AI. We launched out of Chicago Atlantic, a $3B AUM private credit/debt firm with a top tier fund performance record and deep expertise in AI roll-ups and restructurings. We've spent years inside the deals, and we've seen exactly how much value AI can create for smaller companies that lack the capabilities to compete with larger companies. Now we're building the AI systems to change that: an AI-obsessed team applying frontier AI engineering to the workflows that finance, banking, and restructuring actually run on.

We're small (a ringfenced AI team of 35 and growing), we ship, and we sit close to real capital and real operators. That's the difference between AI that demos well and AI that changes how the work gets done.

Private markets run on knowledge that lives in people's heads and in documents nobody has structured: how a credit gets monitored, how a distressed business gets diagnosed, how a valuation actually gets built. AI can run these workflows, but only when someone has captured that knowledge and encoded it into the system. That encoding is the product's moat, and it is this role.

We've proven the core: covenant monitoring, portfolio reporting, and restructuring analysis running as AI-native workflows against live deals. Now we're scaling it across clients, and every new client means new workflows to learn, map, and encode.

AI applied to high finance is the next frontier of the AI wave. Restructuring, M&A, credit monitoring, valuation: the highest-stakes knowledge work in capital markets is only now being automated, and the people who learn to do it early will define how the industry works for the next decade. This role puts you at the centre of that shift.

You'll get firsthand experience inside finance firms operating in premier capital markets, seeing how deals are monitored, diagnosed, and restructured at close range, akin to being a junior analyst inside the firm, while building the AI systems that run that work. You don't need to write production code. You need to learn the domain deeply enough to teach it to AI: capturing how analysts actually work, structuring that knowledge, and iterating until the AI's output would pass in front of an investment committee.

You'll work inside a product team, deploying the product for clients of our firm and shaping what it becomes. You are looking for ownership, a front-row seat to how AI is revolutionizing finance, and a career that compounds two skills at once: finance and AI.

• Encode domain knowledge – translate how private credit, valuation, and restructuring work actually gets done into structured context, instructions, and workflows that AI systems run on
• Forward-deploy with clients – embed with our firm's clients (credit funds, operators, restructuring teams) to map their workflows, gather the context that makes the product work in their environment, and get it live
• Own output quality – review AI-generated analysis (monitoring memos, covenant checks, valuation support) with a practitioner's eye; define what correct looks like and hold the system to it
• Learn the tools – become fluent in working with AI agents, prompts, and workflow configuration; no coding required, but hands-on comfort with the systems is the job
• Shape the product – surface what users actually need from inside their workflows and feed it back to product and engineering; you're the connective tissue between the domain and the build
• Build the context library – turn each deployment into reusable assets: workflow playbooks, domain rules, evaluation criteria that make every subsequent deployment faster
  

• Finance background – 1-3 years of professional experience in financial services, direct lending, or investment banking. 
• Willingness to go deep on AI – you may not have used AI professionally yet, but you're genuinely curious, already experimenting, and ready to make applying AI to finance workflows your core skill
• Client-facing ability – comfortable embedding with client teams, asking the questions that surface how work really gets done, and earning the trust of experienced practitioners
• Precision and judgment – you notice when a number doesn't tie out, when an assumption is off, when an output wouldn't survive scrutiny; quality control is instinct, not process
• Strong independent operation – you surface blockers, make calls, and move fast in ambiguous environments without waiting for direction
  

• Experience at a private credit fund, restructuring advisory, or PE portfolio operations team
• Exposure to AI tools in a professional setting (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or agent-based workflows)
• Comfort working across US time zones and travelling to the US as needed
