Brand Manager – Food

Job Description

The Brand Manager Food is responsible for translating business and marketing objectives into a strong Food portfolio that aligns with customers preferences and maximize profitability. This role will leverage emerging consumer trends to lead the development and implementation of a pipeline of delicious, good value for money, and profitable branded products, while enhancing fresh food experiences through innovative menu development.

I. Responsibilities:

Product Management & Development

  • Identify and develop opportunities to maximize sales through Food product offerings & promotional launches. Prepare budgets, control overall quality and costs to manage financial performance.
  • Adapt menu lines suitable for all periods of the day, ensuring they reflect emerging food trends while maintaining depth, width, and available selection to maximize sales and uphold food product standards.
  • Manage the menu and proactively propose interventions to develop a strong Food product portfolio based on insights into competitors&apos activities and customer needs and preferences, ensuring alignment with the company&aposs overall goals and target segments.
  • Develop a product roadmap to create fresh food experiences that delight customers, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy and brand positioning.
  • Analyse test research to determine new product opportunities and to validate new products and programs. Assesses the marketplace for new product innovations, competitors, lifestyle trends and emerging technologies and makes recommendations and decisions on opportunities.
  • Develop strategic assessments, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for new product opportunities to validate and build product innovation programs. Identify and quantify specific product drivers to support marketing calendar strategies.
  • Create and present business cases for new products or programs that support market growth strategies and profitability targets.
  • Regularly review the menu, evaluate the performance of individual products and the overall product mix to make decisions about which products to keep, which to replace, and which to add to optimize sales and profitability.

Product Commercialization

  • Build plans, calendars, and budgets for the Food product lines, including product positioning, target audience identification, and pricing strategies that differentiate them from competitors and resonate with the target audience.
  • Design product specific marketing campaigns to drive trail and transaction of new Food items in stores.
  • Lead efforts to gather consumer insights and evaluate program effectiveness, utilizing metrics and analytics tools to share findings with business units and integrate them into continuous improvement & future initiatives.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to plan and oversee the production of a wide range of food products, ensuring appropriate manufacture, storage, temperature control, delivery and handling of food by both vendors & stores.
  • Lead integrated launch programs for products, including product direction, marketing plans and store operations and supply chain requirements.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to refine recipe formulations and food preparation processes, ensuring they meet mass production requirements, compliance needs, and align with customer expectations.

Training and Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with the Training team to facilitate food training programs, ensuring that new products are handed over to Operations with comprehensive information during the launch phase to maximize the success of new food initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure that food products from vendors align with product strategy, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor relationships with vendors to ensure compliance with hygiene standards and food safety regulations while maintaining high levels of cleanliness and sanitation.

II. Qualifications

Education/ Training Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration. A master&aposs degree is a plus.

Experience

  • 07+ years of experience in Food category in FMCG/ Retail.
  • Proven track record of building strong product portfolio, planogram and driving business results
  • Product roadmap development and menu management
  • Ability to drive products from ideation to commercialization.

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of market food trends.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations.
  • Project Management.

Skills (Ability to):

  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends for Food category.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build trust and influence broad range of stakeholders internal, external
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels for initiatives
  • Results focused ability to deliver in high pressure environment
  • Strong Vietnamese & English language skills.
