Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Developer to join a business-as-usual (BAU) support environment. The role will support and resolve technical incidents, application issues, and data discrepancies, implement database and application-level enhancements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives at both team and project levels.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise services and applications.
Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Support system and data integrations across internal and external systems, database objects, and automated processes.
Ensure code quality through peer reviews, testing, and adherence to development standards.
Troubleshoot data-processing issues, interface failures, and reconciliation discrepancies.
Monitor application health, logs, and alerts using tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Infrastructure, Deployment, and Operations Support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation, including solution designs, deployment procedures, incident reports, and operational runbooks.
Ensure solutions comply with organizational security, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including encryption, auditing, role-based access control, and data masking.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in development, deployment, and support processes.
Participate in incident response and on-call support rotations.

Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and application support.
Experience in Insurance, Financial Services, AML, Compliance, or Risk Management systems is highly preferred.
Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedures, DML, and DDL.
Good hands-on development experience with Python and C#/.NET.
Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control tools, and enterprise tools such as Git/GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global team environment through daily communication, documentation, and stakeholder meetings.
