Automation Thermal Management Test Engineer
Job Description
- Design, develop, and implement automated test procedures for vehicle thermal systems (HVAC, battery cooling, motor/inverter cooling, etc.).
- Work with cross-functional teams (Thermal Engineering, Software, Controls, and Calibration) to define test requirements and validate system performance.
- Configure and maintain data acquisition systems (DAQ), test benches, and environmental chambers for thermal system evaluation.
- Develop and apply scripts or software (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, CANoe, CAPL, MATLAB/Simulink) to control and monitor test automation processes.
- Analyze test data and generate detailed technical reports to support design validation, root cause analysis, and system optimization.
- Ensure testing activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., ISO, SAE), and internal VF quality protocols.
- Support troubleshooting and debugging of thermal management components during vehicle development and validation stages.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test methods, automation tools, and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of automotive thermal systems and heat transfer principles.
- Hands-on experience with thermal testing tools and equipment (e.g., thermal chambers, flow meters, pressure sensors, etc.).
- Proficiency in automation tools such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and diagnostic tools (CANoe, CANalyzer).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and post-processing software (e.g., DIAdem, Origin, Excel).
