Job Description

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The Assistant Security Manager supports the Surveillance & Security Manager/Cluster Head of Surveillance & Security in managing daily Security operations at the assigned site. The role is responsible for Security manpower deployment, access control, patrol discipline, incident and emergency response, team supervision, staff training, report quality, and operational Security and Safety risk control.

The position works closely with Gaming Operations, Rewards Club, Reception, Cage Operations, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Maintenance & Facility, IT, Gaming Technical, EVS, Hotel Security, and other relevant parties. The Assistant Security Manager also coordinates with Surveillance where CCTV review, incident verification, evidence preservation, gaming-floor concerns, or investigation support is required.

The position does not hold direct authority over Surveillance operations, footage release, evidence authorization, regulatory submission, final investigation conclusions, department-wide policy approval, or technical building systems. Sensitive, high-risk, regulatory, or non-routine matters must be escalated in accordance with approved protocols.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Security Operations Management

  • Supervise daily Security operations at the assigned site, including manpower deployment, post coverage, patrol standards, entrance and exit control, back-of-house coverage, handover quality, and shift discipline.

Security Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and monitor Security Supervisors, Senior Officers, and Officers.
  • Maintain professional conduct, service standards, accountability, and consistent execution of assigned duties.

Training and Team Development

  • Plan, organize, and conduct Security induction, refresher training, shift briefings, drills, and practical exercises.
  • Assess staff understanding and performance, maintain training records, and recommend further coaching or corrective training where required.

Access Control and Restricted Area Protection

  • Ensure approved access control procedures are applied to guests, employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, restricted areas, sensitive rooms, and operational support areas.
  • Identify and address tailgating, unauthorized access, badge misuse, and other access-control concerns.

Security Risk Assessment and Preventive Control

  • Conduct routine and event-based Security risk assessments covering access control, restricted areas, crowd movement, contractor activities, cash or valuable-item movement, emergency access, workplace safety, and other operational concerns.
  • Recommend practical controls and follow up on approved actions.

Security Incident, Conflict and Dispute Handling

  • Coordinate the initial response to guest disputes, aggressive or intoxicated behaviour, threats, fighting, harassment, unauthorized access, property-related incidents, and other Security or Safety concerns.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques, protect affected persons, maintain operational control, preserve relevant information, and escalate the matter in accordance with approved procedures.

Fire Safety, Rescue and First-Aid Readiness

  • Maintain working knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting procedures, evacuation, rescue coordination, emergency equipment, assembly-point control, and basic first aid.
  • Support readiness checks, drills, briefings, and emergency response in coordination with Facilities, Hotel Security, trained emergency-response personnel, and relevant authorities.

Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Response

  • Support emergency plans and coordinate the first-line Security response to fire alarms, medical cases, power failures, evacuation, crowd-control concerns, and other emergencies until the designated person in charge or emergency service assumes control.

Surveillance Coordination and Evidence Preservation

  • Provide accurate incident details to Surveillance and request review through the approved process.
  • Protect the scene and preserve relevant records or physical items while recognizing that footage release, evidence authorization, system access, and final investigation control remain subject to approved authority.

Reporting and Record Control

  • Ensure Security incident reports, daily logs, shift summaries, patrol records, access-control records, risk assessments, training records, and follow-up actions are factual, complete, timely, and audit-ready.

Compliance and SOP Implementation

  • Implement and reinforce approved Security SOPs, relevant Surveillance coordination procedures, PvPs, post orders, Club regulations, internal controls, and service standards within the assigned site.

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Work effectively with Operations, Reception, Cage, HR, Learning & Development, Facilities, IT, Technician, EVS, Hotel Security, emergency services, law enforcement, and other relevant parties within delegated authority and Management direction.

Escalation and Communication

  • Escalate major incidents, repeated procedural violations, significant risk findings, access-control failures, colleagues conduct concerns, regulatory-sensitive matters, and non-routine cases to the Surveillance & Security Manager, Cluster Head of Surveillance & Security, or Executive Management as required.

Other Duties

  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Surveillance & Security Manager, Cluster Head of Surveillance & Security, or designated executive authority within delegated responsibility.

Authorized to:

  • Direct and coordinate Security Supervisors and Officers during daily site operations.
  • Adjust Security deployment in response to operational needs, subject to approved manpower arrangements and Management direction.
  • Coordinate the initial response to site-level Security incidents, disputes, emergencies, safety concerns, and access-control matters.
  • Conduct operational Security risk assessments and recommend proportionate preventive or corrective controls.
  • Request Surveillance support or review through the approved request and escalation process.
  • Review Security reports, logs, patrol records, risk assessments, training records, and incident summaries for completeness and factual accuracy.
  • The Assistant Security Manager operates within delegated site-level Security authority. Matters outside that authority, including Surveillance system access, footage or evidence release, final investigation conclusions, regulatory or authority coordination, disciplinary decisions, policy approval, major incident decisions, or control of technical building systems, must be escalated to the appropriate Management authority.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in Security, Risk, Safety, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Recognized training or certification in fire safety, rescue and evacuation, first aid, emergency response, incident investigation, or risk assessment is preferred. Required refresher training and practical drills must be completed after appointment.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant Security experience, including supervisory, team-lead, or acting-management responsibilities.
  • Casino, gaming club, integrated resort, or other regulated gaming experience is preferred but not mandatory. Strong candidates from hotels, hospitality, entertainment venues, or other complex Security operations may also be considered.
  • Experience in manpower deployment, access control, patrol supervision, incident handling, emergency response, report review, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Practical experience in staff training, operational briefings, drills, coaching, and performance follow-up is required.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV coordination, evidence preservation, restricted-area control, fire-alarm response, evacuation, first aid, and escalation requirements are preferred.
  • Working proficiency in English is required. The candidate must be able to understand operational instructions and SOPs, prepare or review routine reports, conduct basic briefings and training, and coordinate with Management and other departments. Advanced fluency is not required, but commitment to improvement must be demonstrated.
  • Ability to identify Security and Safety risks, assess operational impact, recommend proportionate controls, and follow up on agreed actions.
  • Working knowledge of fire safety, evacuation, rescue coordination, emergency response, and basic first aid, within the limits of personal authority and training.
  • Strong leadership, communication, situational awareness, conflict de-escalation, decision-making, and coordination skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • High integrity, professionalism, service mindset, neutrality, and accountability when handling sensitive people, incidents, reports, and information.

  • Clean Criminal Record Certificate (Judicial Record): required.
