Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing and leading the end-to-end supply chain strategy to ensure operational excellence, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role oversees procurement, logistics, inventory management, demand planning, and distribution while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Supply Chain Director collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners to ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business objectives and long-term growth.
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the supply chain.
- Identify and mitigate risks in supply chain operations.
- Stakeholder management (both external & internal) to improving business relationship and driving win-win positions
- Procurement & Supplier Management
- Oversee sourcing, vendor selection, and supplier relationship management.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Monitor supplier performance and develop strategic partnerships.
- Planning & Forecasting
- Lead demand and supply planning to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance to align forecasts with market demand.
- Logistics & Distribution
- Manage warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks.
- Optimize logistics processes to ensure timely delivery and reduce costs.
- Implement technology solutions to enhance supply chain visibility and tracking.
- Team Leadership
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing supply chain team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
- Provide mentorship, performance management, and succession planning.
- Data & Technology
- Leverage analytics and digital tools to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Implement relevant supply chain management systems to improve efficiency.
Experience
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of global supply chain best practices, demand planning, procurement, and logistics.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and process improvement.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced analytics, and supply chain management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in [industry-specific supply chain, e.g., FMCG, Retail] is a plus.
Qualification
- Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
