About the Job

Position Summary: As the Senior Manager, Merchandising Operations (Hardlines), you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient flow of inventory from global origins to retail markets. You will play a key role in driving direct import sales growth and unlocking value by ensuring inventory availability while reducing costs. This involves leading and developing teams, collaborating with suppliers and internal partners, and implementing strategies to continuously improve supply chain efficiency and achieve financial goals.

About The Team

The Merchandising Operations team is accountable for managing inventory, ensuring fulfillment excellence, and overseeing order management from global origins to retail markets. We are dedicated to driving direct import sales growth and unlocking value by ensuring inventory is available while reducing holding, shipping, and production costs. We collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to continuously improve operational efficiency, optimize the supply chain, and meet all sales, in-stock, and inventory goals.

About The Role

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role where you'll directly impact our direct import sales and financial goals. You'll be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of replenishment and inventory management, ensuring a seamless flow of products from global origins to retail markets. A core part of your job is developing and leading a high-performing team, building strong partnerships with suppliers, and implementing strategies to optimize the supply chain and reduce costs. You will also drive continuous improvement projects and provide expertise to ensure operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Direct and optimize supply chain execution across multiple categories to ensure optimal inventory and in-stock levels for retail markets.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team by providing supervision, mentorship, and growth opportunities to ensure operational excellence.
  • Strategically oversee and manage import fulfillment at the division or country level, translating long-range plans into short-term execution goals.
  • Build and leverage strong internal and external partnerships to drive the import business, collaborating with suppliers, sourcing agents, and retail markets.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency by analyzing processes, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies with key suppliers to ensure smooth demand fulfillment and achieve sales, inventory, and profitability goals.
  • Analyze financial and performance data to influence cross-functional team decisions and communicate results to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate effective communication and provide training on import fulfillment processes to ensure all parties are aligned and collaborative.
  • Respond to escalated issues related to the import business, ensuring a quick and effective resolution.

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor/Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, business, or trading. Minimum 3-6 years of leadership experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, with a proven ability to develop and execute strategic action plans.
  • Experience in working with retail and direct imports.
  • Strong experience in leading projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in recruiting, building, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills to achieve key objectives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a good command of English.
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with retail markets, suppliers, and logistics teams.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
