Staff Data Scientist
Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and evaluating statistical and predictive models to analyze feature performance and drive actionable insights.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data-driven solutions addressing key business challenges.
- Applying advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies in large-scale datasets.
- Developing scalable cloud and web-based components to ingest, process, transform, and visualize data effectively.
- Creating robust frameworks and tools to automate and enhance data mining, labeling, model training, and validation processes for internal ML/DL initiatives.
- Conducting studies, setting up automation tools and frameworks, and regularly publishing internal and external KPI audits.
- Clearly communicating analytical insights and creating intuitive, storytelling-driven dashboards for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- 5-7 years of proven experience in data science or a related discipline.
- Strong foundational knowledge in statistics, probability theory, estimation theory, and statistical inference.
- Excellent programming skills in Python, with strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Good understanding of database internals and schema design for relational (RDBMS) and non-relational (NoSQL) data stores.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data visualization techniques and storytelling through data.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Grafana, or Plotly-Dash.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services, including Kinesis, EKS, Auto Scaling Groups, etc.
- Familiarity with popular Python web frameworks like Django or Flask.
