We are looking for a Sr. Sourcing & NPI Specialist, Apparel to join our team. In this role you will lead sourcing and procurement activities for apparel, with a focus on supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives. The Sr. Specialist will act as the primary supplier owner, driving supplier performance and building strategic partnerships to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery. This position requires expertise in developing sourcing strategies, managing cost frameworks, mitigating supply chain risks, and leveraging digital tools and ERP systems for data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Southeast Asian supplier landscape and a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

This position reports to the Sr Manager, Sourcing & NPI Hardgoods and is based out of our Ho Chi Minh office.

As the Sr. Sourcing & NPI Specialist, Apparel, you will have an opportunity to:

Regional Sourcing Strategy & NPI:

  • NPI Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Development, Planning) to support NPI product development, ensuring new designs are feasible and cost-effective before mass production.
  • Supplier Landscape: Apply a deep understanding of the SE Asian supplier landscape, including regulatory environments, cultural nuances, and logistics infrastructure to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Build long-term, trust-based relationships with key suppliers to foster innovation and agility, moving beyond transactional relationships.
  • HQ Support: Act as the regional lead for RFI, RFP & RFQ support, identify new potential suppliers within the region to support HQ strategies and goals.

Cost Engineering & Optimization:

  • Should Cost Leadership: Lead and build detailed bottom-up cost breakdown models (inclusive of labor, materials, overhead). Use this data to validate supplier quotes and drive margin improvement.
  • CBD management: Oversee the accuracy and timely upload CBD data into the vendor portal/PLM systems.
  • Cost Framework: Establish and maintain a robust cost framework for each product category, conducting thorough benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Supply Chain Operations & Risk Management:

  • Comprehensive Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate supplier finance and legal risks, as well as supply chain risks such as disruptions and geopolitical factors.
  • Contingency Planning: Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential disruptions, demonstrating the ability to pivot sourcing strategies quickly.
  • Production Resolution: As needed assist Operations team to prevent/overcome production bottlenecks

Digital, ERP System & Data Analysis:

  • System Proficiency: Utilize sourcing platforms (e.g., PLM, SAP Ariba, Coupa) to maintain data integrity.
  • Data-Driven Reporting: Gather and utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Prepare regular reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, supplier performance, and sustainability for key stakeholder review.

Team & HQ Coordination:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement as it relates to related sourcing and costing processes, systems, and tools.
  • Visit Coordination: Assist in travel planning and coordination for HQ executive and sourcing team visits, ensuring factory readiness and agenda alignment

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sourcing and Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing and supply base management, preferably in the Softgoods industry (outdoor/technical apparel, glove, socks and bags).
  • Strong understanding of product costing, sourcing, and negotiation techniques.
  • Strong in supplier development and drive continuous performance improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Willing to be relocated internationally according to business needs
  • Professional certificates (CPM, CPSM) is a plus.
