About Us
Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd (DSCS) is a joint venture between Damen Workboats in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Workboats to produce tug- and workboats up to 60 meters. At the moment the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard: up to 45 hulls are procured from our partner shipyards. DSCS is performing outfitting, commissioning and delivery to clients worldwide. The strategy to grow is successful. Growth in volume, expanding the product portfolio, expanding other maritime activities (services, supervision) within the group.
Job Context
The Sourcing specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure a high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable supply of goods/services that meet the companys needs. This role plays a critical part in building supplier relationships.

Market Analysis
Key Responsibilities
System/Data Controlling and Report:
- Update progress of sourcing progress on dashboard timely
- Categorize the factorys need by Procurement matrix.
- Data-lize goods/services by report with fixed name, detail specification, description, brand, picture, dimensions
- Prepare the suppliers certified data periodically per categories
- Prepare market analysis data and report
- Prepare annual cost review data and report
- Prepare risk evaluation and report
- Launch ideas and report for improvement
Document controlling activities
- Well and logically control related documents incl Request for quotation, quotations, Commercial agreement, supplier evaluation, reports and contracts
- Managing tender documents; collecting and composing documents.
- Translating and editorial activities
Suppliers Administrative activities
- Find new suppliers if necessary
- Process bidding
- Supervision suppliers performance periodically and report
- Negotiate and instruct to suppliers
- Reminding activities regarding debtors and creditor management.
Sourcing Strategy activities
- Study and improve sourcing strategy to optimize cost, lead time and sustainability
- Prepare supplier consolidation strategies
Required Qualifications
Education: University, construction/architecture/ engineering Bachelor
Experience: Experience in construction engineering is much preferable
Key competencies
Construction bidding knowledge
- Have good knowledge about construction material and quality standard (TCVN, ASTM, ISO)
- Knowledge of construction processes and project components (foundation, structure, finishing, MEP - mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
- Awareness of construction machinery and equipment (excavators, cranes, concrete mixers, etc.) and their technical specifications.
Sourcing Skills
- Market Research: Ability to find suppliers (via online platforms, trade fairs, or partnerships) and evaluate their credibility and capacity (licenses, certifications, delivery history).
- Price and Quality Comparison: Analyze quotations, negotiate prices, and ensure materials meet technical requirements.
- Supply Chain Management: Understand logistics, delivery timelines, and risk management (delays, defective goods).
Sustainability and Environmental Knowledge
- Understand green materials, energy-efficient solutions, and sustainability standards
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to material extraction and transportation.
Decisiveness
- Handling situations quickly and adequately when the working situation asks for it.
Communication (oral ability to express oneself)
- Effective communication, taking into account the level of the parties that are being communicated with.
