Job Description

Company Description

Neural Lab helps industries with AI-driven transformation. We aim to create a more technologically advanced world by helping industries adopt AI to unleash business values with speed. Neural Lab builds practical, real-time AI for airport operations. Our success to date is anchored in achieving tangible business outcomes with continuous innovation, teamwork and diversity. We serve clients in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the Middle East.

Role Description

This is a full-time Solutions Architect role based in Vietnam with a remote-first working arrangement. The Solutions Architect will design and implement comprehensive technical solutions, consult with clients to understand business needs, and lead the integration of software systems into client environments. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to drive innovation and ensure solutions align with business processes. You will

  • Lead end-to-end solution design for client and internal product initiatives, including technology selection (build vs buy, framework choices, cloud services, integration patterns).
  • Work with client business and IT to translate business requirements into solution architecture and an executable delivery plan, with System Analyst support.
  • Define functional and non-functional specifications (performance, scalability, reliability, security, data privacy, maintainability) and ensure they are explicitly addressed in the design.
  • Produce architecture and design artefacts that engineers will use as development input, including (as applicable):

oSolution Architecture Document / High-Level Design (HLD)

oComponent and deployment diagrams

oAPI contracts and integration design (incl. message queues/web services)

oData model and storage design

oSecurity design considerations and operational monitoring/logging approach

oArchitecture Decision Records (ADRs) and trade-off analysis

  • Facilitate Architecture Design Review (ADR) sessions: prepare the ADR pack, drive alignment, incorporate feedback, and obtain approval before engineers commence development.
  • Provide clear implementation guidance to engineering teams (backend, frontend, AI/Operation Research), including breaking down architecture into epics/user stories and defining interfaces between services.
  • Partner with engineers during delivery to ensure the implementation matches approved architecture; review key technical designs, de-risk hard parts early, and manage architecture deviations.
  • Collaborate closely with System Analyst(s) to ensure requirements traceability (requirement design build test), and support the delivery team throughout implementation.
  • Ensure engineering best practices are applied (maintainability, testability, CI/CD readiness, documentation quality) and mentor team members on architectural thinking.
  • Monitor and manage architecture-level risks/issues (scope creep, vendor constraints, integration dependencies, performance bottlenecks) and propose mitigation actions early.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant field
  • 6+ years of experience in solution architecture / technical lead / senior engineering roles delivering production systems end-to-end (requirements design build deploy operate).
  • Proven experience designing scalable backend architecture (microservices, scheduler, event-driven patterns) and integration approaches (APIs, web services, message queues).
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and database design (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and ability to make pragmatic choices based on access patterns and reliability needs.
  • Familiarity with modern development stacks used by the team (e.g., Python + frameworks; React/TypeScript for full stack) and the ability to produce designs engineers can implement quickly and correctly.
  • Experience with cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, Huawei), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization/orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills: can write architecture/design specifications, run design reviews, and explain trade-offs clearly in English.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across business, IT, vendors, and internal engineering teams; able to drive decisions and alignment under ambiguity.
  • Good understanding and experience in standard SDLC and Agile development methodology.
  • Advantageous to have experience in Technology Consulting, Aviation or Logistics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, diverse environment
  • Strong passion in Startup environment

WHY WORK FOR US

  • You will get lots of exposure and accelerate your learning
  • You will be helping the aviation sector to adopt AI and participate in the industry's major AI transformation
  • Meritocracy-based culture, unlike traditional companies, we value truth and honest opinions with merit
  • Startup culture with flexible working hours and work locations. As long as you perform and your works demonstrate value, you will be rewarded
  • Help shape a fun, dynamic and diverse work environment
  • Neural Lab is a remote-first working environment
