Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Handle end-to-end trade finance operations, including Letters of Credit (LC), Documentary Collections, Bank Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC).
  • Review trade and shipping documents such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, certificates and insurance documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare, verify and submit trade finance applications, amendments, drawdowns and supporting documents to banks within required timelines.
  • Identify documentary discrepancies, assess transaction risks and coordinate timely rectification with internal stakeholders, banks and counterparties.
  • Monitor trade finance facilities, limits, utilisation, maturity dates, fees and financing costs.
  • Liaise with relationship banks on transaction processing, facility documentation, pricing and operational matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, AML, sanctions and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance teams on shipping, bunkering and trading transactions.
  • Support cash flow planning and provide visibility on upcoming payments, receipts and financing obligations.
  • Guide junior team members and support improvements to trade finance workflows, controls and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Finance, Banking, Accountancy, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant trade finance experience, preferably in shipping, bunkering, commodities trading or the maritime industry.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Bank Guarantees, SBLCs and shipping documentation.
  • Good understanding of trade finance controls, AML, sanctions and banking practices.
  • Experience dealing with banks, managing trade facilities and handling time-sensitive submissions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ERP, treasury or trade finance system experience is an advantage.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and demonstrate high integrity and accountability.
