Job summary
Responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, equipment and supplies domestically and internationally to ensure uninterrupted company operations.
Key responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, machinery & equipment, and supplies for domestic and international purchases as assigned.
- Source, negotiate with, and select suppliers.
- Conduct preliminary supplier evaluations and propose potential suppliers. Build and maintain relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and insurers.
- Keep up-to-date with import/export regulations and report relevant changes to management.
- Monitor delivery progress and expedite orders to meet production and business needs.
- Identify and qualify alternative/back-up suppliers for each item to increase options and mitigate supplier risk.
- Prepare customs reports and settlements on a quarterly and annual basis as required.
- Monitor market developments and advise management on raw material price trends, logistics costs, and foreign exchange fluctuations.
- Perform other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Authority
- Propose, negotiate and select suppliers within assigned limits.
- Request information from internal departments to support purchasing activities.
- Propose corrective actions on quality, delivery or payment issues.
- Reject invalid purchase requests.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum: College diploma in Foreign Trade / International Business / Import-Export (or equivalent).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with purchased product categories; understanding of import procedures, customs declaration, domestic and international transport.
- Language: Communicative English.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in import/purchasing or import department.
- Skills: Strong communication, agility; negotiation skills; proactive, honest, analytical and good problem-solving ability.
- Other: Willingness to work outside regular hours (online) and travel to ports/airports if required.

- Evaluated based on assigned KPIs.

Working hours:
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (60-minute lunch break).
- Saturdays: First and last Saturday of each month.
