Senior Life & Health Underwriter, Asia (Based in Singapore)

Are you an experienced Life & Health Underwriter looking to take on a broader regional brief

I am currently partnering with a leading global life reinsurer to find a Senior Underwriter for their Asia team in Singapore.

This is a hands on underwriting seat with a real project brief alongside it, not a pure case queue and not a pure governance role. You will own end-to-end medical and financial underwriting, and also help push underwriting automation and digitalization.

What you will do:

• Underwrite medical, financial and special risks across life, critical illness, disability and health, from referral to decision.
• Support cedents across Asian markets with practical underwriting advice, not just file reviews.
• Contribute to guidelines, product work and knowledge-sharing across the region.
• Spend a meaningful share of your time on underwriting automation and digitalization, including new practices and system adoption.

What they are looking for:

• A solid technical background in Life & Health underwriting, ideally with life insurance or reinsurance experience in one or more Asian markets.
• Medical underwriting depth across life, critical illness, disability and health, plus credible financial underwriting.
• Comfort with client-facing work and the occasional regional trip.
• Exposure to underwriting systems, automation or digital initiatives is an advantage. An additional Asian language is useful, not a must.
