About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and organized Recruitment Team Lead (Volunteer) to lead volunteer recruitment for the STEAMese Festival 2025, a flagship event co-organized with UNICEF Vietnam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our festival operations, responsible for attracting, selecting, and onboarding a talented volunteer force to deliver an exceptional experience for participants, partners, and the public.

You will work closely with our Operations, Program, and Communications teams to design recruitment strategies, manage selection processes, and ensure every volunteer is set up for success. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Vietnam’s largest AI & STEAM education events, working alongside leading global and national partners.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment Strategy

  • Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan tailored for the STEAMese Festival 2025.
  • Identify target channels for outreach, including universities, youth organizations, online platforms, and partner networks.
  • Create compelling recruitment messages in collaboration with the Communications team.

Selection & Onboarding

  • Oversee the volunteer application and interview process to ensure timely, fair, and transparent selection.
  • Coordinate onboarding sessions, including festival orientation, role-specific training, and policy briefings.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer databases and schedules.

Team Coordination & Engagement

  • Lead a small core recruitment team to manage outreach, screening, and coordination.
  • Work with festival department leads (logistics, program, guest relations, media, etc.) to allocate volunteers based on skills and preferences.
  • Foster a positive volunteer culture through engagement activities and ongoing communication.

Festival Support

  • Ensure smooth volunteer deployment during the festival, addressing last-minute changes and issues.
  • Gather post-event feedback to improve future recruitment processes.

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in recruitment, human resources, event coordination, or volunteer management.
  • Prior experience in large-scale events, youth programs, or non-profits is a plus.

Skills & Mindset

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills in Vietnamese and English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of volunteers.
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in tools such as Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and social media platforms.
  • Passionate about education, community building, and delivering impactful events.
