Job Summary:
The Packaging Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing packaging standards and solutions to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective handling, storage, and transportation of components, spare parts, and finished vehicles. This role works closely with suppliers, manufacturing plants, and logistics teams to ensure packaging meets technical, operational, and sustainability requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and approve packaging standards for components supplied by vendors, ensuring compliance with quality and handling requirements.
- Develop packaging standards and solutions for finished vehicles to ensure safe delivery and compliance with market-specific regulations.
- Design and standardize packaging solutions for spare parts to ensure durability, ease of handling, and space optimization.
- Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, production, and logistics teams to evaluate packaging performance and propose improvements.
- Conduct packaging trials, testing, and validation to ensure standards meet operational needs and cost targets.
- Ensure all packaging designs comply with safety, environmental, and sustainability guidelines.
- Maintain documentation of packaging specifications, drawings, and testing results.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in packaging design and development, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, testing methods, and international packaging standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CAD software and related design tools is an advantage.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
