The FSRA is the financial services regulator of St Helena, a UK Overseas Territory. We are leading the work to transform St Helena into a new international financial hub, focused on sustainable finance. This involves a total modernization of company law, tax law and financial services regulation. We aren't just writing the rules, we are building the infrastructure – an international Company Registry, a new Fund domicile and a centre for Trust and Corporate Service Providers.
The role
You Will Work Directly With The Asia-based CEO To
- Develop our commercial strategy, including designing the product for our Company Registry and fund domicile.
- Develop a tax strategy to support to support our commercial goals Deconstruct complex legal reforms and turn them into operational reality for the Company Registry and the FSRA
- Drive the digital and operational transformation of the Company Registry into a modern, profitable business
- Drive the timeline for implementation of the modernisation programme
- Work with government officials in St Helena and the UK, and with international regulatory bodies to ensure that St Helena fully complies with international standards
- Support the CEO, attending high-level meetings, taking ownership of follow-up actions and drafting executive briefings
- Produce slick, corporate and investor presentations, to turn dry law into high-impact visual strategy for government officials and investors
The profile
- Around 5 years of experience in Strategy, Tax or Financial Services Risk Advisory in a Big 4 firm, international bank or other international finance environment
- Good understanding of international financial regulatory concepts, and ideally some exposure to funds or corporate structuring
- Very strong professional English communication skills
- Very strong IT skills, with experience in producing corporate-standard presentation materials
- Young, energetic, sleeves rolled up attitude
The role is mostly remote, with quarterly in-person meetings with the CEO. The role is offered initially as a long-term international consultancy, but we intend to transition this role to full employee status (via local EOR) after 12-18 months for the right person.
