Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works for a large-scale hospital construction project.
  • Coordinate with M&E engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other project team members.
  • Review M&E drawings, shop drawings, specifications and technical documents to support site implementation.
  • Coordinate M&E works with architectural, civil & structural and other specialist trades.
  • Monitor site M&E installation activities to ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving clashes and coordination issues between M&E and other disciplines.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on work sequencing, manpower, materials and site access requirements.
  • Follow up on M&E material submissions, approvals, deliveries and installation.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating technical submissions, method statements, inspection requests and other project documents.
  • Coordinate inspection and testing activities with consultants, QA/QC personnel and subcontractors.
  • Monitor the progress of M&E works and provide regular updates to the M&E Engineer or Manager.
  • Assist in coordinating testing and commissioning activities for M&E systems.
  • Follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries and outstanding design issues.
  • Assist in BIM coordination and clash detection activities where applicable.
  • Coordinate rectification of M&E defects and outstanding works.
  • Attend M&E coordination and site meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Maintain proper records of drawings, submissions, approvals, inspection reports and M&E documentation.
  • Assist the project team in ensuring M&E works comply with relevant Singapore codes, standards and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the QA/QC team to ensure proper inspection and quality control of M&E works.
  • Support project completion, defects rectification and handover activities.
  • Perform other M&E coordination duties assigned by the M&E Engineer or M&E Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant M&E construction or coordination experience.
  • Experience with large-scale building projects is preferred.
  • Experience in hospital, healthcare, institutional or complex building projects will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of M&E building services and construction processes.
  • Knowledge of ACMV/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection and ELV systems will be advantageous.
  • Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, shop drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM or other M&E coordination software.
  • Basic knowledge of Singapore building codes, standards and statutory requirements.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
  • Able to identify site coordination issues and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Able to work independently and effectively under project deadlines.
