Job Summary
As the Data Analyst Leader, you will take ownership of HMDs data analytics function. You will lead and mentor a team of data analysts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytics, reporting, and actionable insights that drive business growth. Working closely with cross-functional teamsespecially business stakeholders, data engineers, and senior managementyou will shape our business intelligence strategy, champion data-driven decision-making, and help elevate the analytical capabilities of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, providing technical guidance and professional growth opportunities.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of analytics projects and reports.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
2. Data Analytics & Reporting
- Oversee the collection, transformation, and analysis of data from multiple sources (databases, spreadsheets, external systems, etc.).
- Ensure data quality through robust cleansing, validation, and governance processes.
- Supervise the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor business performance.
- Utilize advanced statistical methods and BI tools to extract actionable insights and identify business trends and opportunities.
3. Business Partnering & Insights
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver customized analytical solutions, and support key strategic initiatives.
- Present complex analysis and insights in a clear, concise manner to non-technical audiences, supporting effective business decisions.
- Proactively identify opportunities for business process improvements based on data-driven insights.
4. Data Governance & Best Practices
- Implement and advocate for data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the analytics function.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, BI tools, and advanced analytics techniques, ensuring continuous improvement of the teams capabilities.
- Support training and enablement for business users to maximize the adoption and value of BI tools.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or higher in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst, Google Data Analytics, etc.) are a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, with at least 1 year in a team lead or supervisory role.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Proficiency in BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Apache Superset.
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts, data modeling, and analytics methodologies.
- Experience working with data warehouses and relational databases.
- Programming experience in Python or R for data analysis.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.) and containerization (Docker) is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of e-commerce industry is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
