About Golt Cloud

Golt Cloud is a Singapore-based specialised IT consultancy supporting cloud and software vendors

with technical qualification, commercial support and integration delivery across hosting and

managed-service environments.

About the Role

Golt Cloud is looking for an Infrastructure & Solutions Engineer to support the technical review,

coordination and delivery of infrastructure and integration projects.

The initial focus of the role will be on projects for a cloud-security technology client, working with

customer technical teams, suppliers and other delivery partners to support infrastructure

assessment, integration and production readiness.

This role is suited to an engineer with solid practical infrastructure experience who can understand

proposed solutions, identify technical risks or gaps, troubleshoot issues and help verify that agreed

technical requirements have been met.

You will not be expected to personally design or implement every component. The focus is on

applying sound infrastructure knowledge and working with the relevant technical teams to support

successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review proposed hosting and infrastructure designs and understand how the main components work together.
  • Translate technical designs into practical requirements, dependencies, milestones and acceptance criteria.
  • Review compute, storage and network requirements, including sizing, capacity, redundancy and availability.
  • Identify technical dependencies, potential single points of failure and operational or security risks.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and technical teams on infrastructure and integration activities.
  • Review configurations, logs, diagnostics, documentation and other technical evidence to validate delivery or investigate issues.
  • Review failover, recovery and resilience arrangements, including expected behaviour during failure scenarios.
  • Support technical assessment of infrastructure proposals and implementation approaches.
  • Raise technical issues, blockers or risks that may affect delivery or agreed milestones.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to technical and commercial stakeholders.

Required Experience and Knowledge

You should have practical working knowledge of:

  • Production Linux environments, including configurations, logs, service status and diagnostic information.
  • DNS and IPv4/IPv6 networking fundamentals.
  • HTTP, HTTPS and TLS.
  • Reverse proxies, load balancing and origin-server concepts.
  • Compute, storage and network infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Capacity, availability, redundancy, failover and recovery concepts.
  • Firewalls, network segmentation and access-control principles.
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) and bot-protection concepts.
  • Network-level and application-level DDoS protection concepts.
  • Infrastructure troubleshooting using logs, configurations and diagnostic information.
  • Working with external technical teams, service providers or contractors.
  • Communicating technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong infrastructure fundamentals and practical troubleshooting ability are more important than specialist knowledge of every technology listed.

Advantageous Experience

Experience in one or more of the following would be useful:

  • Hosting providers, managed service providers or multi-tenant hosting environments.
  • Hosting control platforms such as cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin.
  • NGINX, HAProxy or Redis Sentinel.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code or automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
  • API-based provisioning.
  • Monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana.
