Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Full Lifecycle Management

  • Product portfolio & roadmap: Own the strategic planning and end‑to‑end lifecycle management of the full ocean freight product portfolio — FCL, LCL, end‑to‑end cross‑border e‑commerce logistics, and multimodal transport. Define standardized product elements, service specifications, and service‑level commitments (SLAs).
  • Scenario‑based solutions: Design differentiated supply chain solutions addressing the industry‑specific needs of large / named accounts (Lead Customers), building a standardized product + customized value‑added services commercial model.

2. Capacity Procurement & Carrier Strategic Relationship Management

  • Carrier network development: Establish and maintain executive‑level strategic partnerships with major global liner carriers (alliance carriers); lead the negotiation and execution of annual / quarterly core contracts (FAK / NAC).
  • Space, equipment & risk control: Build capacity security mechanisms that ensure stable supply of container space and equipment (empties) through peak season; develop contingency alternative routings and risk‑mitigation plans against ocean market volatility (e.g., Red Sea crisis, port labor strikes).

3. Pricing Strategy & Revenue Management

  • Dynamic pricing: Set and continuously optimize market guidance rates and dynamic pricing strategies for ocean freight products, based on global freight market trends (e.g., SCFI / WCI indices), competitor behavior, and internal cost structures.
  • Yield & funnel optimization: Monitor load factors, gross margin, and customer retention by trade lane; apply granular yield management to balance resource allocation and maximize revenue per slot / per TEU.

4. Cross‑Border Regional Collaboration & Business Enablement

  • Regional network synergy: Coordinate with overseas regions (core markets including RCEP, ASEAN, Europe, and North America) on destination‑side operations and customs clearance resources, optimizing Buyer's Consolidation and destination‑port last‑mile transit times.
  • Marketing & sales enablement: Distill core product selling points and build the sales toolkit; support frontline sales teams in jointly developing strategic accounts, and design premium end‑to‑end solutions.

5. Digitalization & Product Iteration

  • Digital product delivery: Partner with technology teams to launch and scale digital capabilities — online ocean booking, end‑to‑end shipment visibility (Track & Trace), and intelligent quotation/rate‑request tools — improving customer self‑service experience and internal operational efficiency.

Requirements

1. Education

  • Full‑time bachelor's degree or above; Logistics & Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Maritime / Transportation, or Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

2. Experience

  • 8+ years of trade‑lane, procurement, or product management experience within international ocean freight, large freight forwarding, or cross‑border logistics groups.
  • 3+ years of people/team management experience; cross‑border or multi‑region management background preferred.
  • A carrier/liner background, or experience managing the ocean freight product line at a major international forwarder (e.g., Kuehne+Nagel, DSV, SF International), is strongly preferred.

3. Core Competencies

  • Market insight: Deep understanding of and foresight into global macro trade economics, the ocean container shipping market cycle, and capacity deployment across alliances (2M, Ocean Alliance, THE Alliance).
  • Negotiation & commercial acumen: Exceptional commercial negotiation and cross‑cultural communication skills, with an established network of senior‑level carrier contacts.
  • Strategic structuring: Sharp numerical logic and strong business sense, with the ability to abstract complex, offline logistics chains into standardized digital products.

4. Language & Ways of Working

  • English as a working language (fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and listening); comfortable operating in a globalized, high‑volume, fast‑paced, multi‑organization collaborative environment.
