Group Accountant

About the Role

This is a newly created, hands-on role based in Singapore, reporting to the Finance Manager.

The Group Accountant will own the accounting and closing of assigned entities and prepare

Group consolidation, financial reporting and audit schedules.

You will work closely with the broader Finance team and external service providers to deliver

accurate, timely and well-supported accounts. The role requires someone who can independently prepare closing and consolidation work for review, investigate discrepancies and

follow through on outstanding items.

Responsibilities

Entity Accounting, Consolidation & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Group consolidation and financial reporting.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations, foreign currency translation, consolidation adjustments and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate entity reporting submissions, investigate differences and follow up on outstanding items to meet the Group close timetable.
• Own the accounting and month-end close for assigned entities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare Group and assigned entities financial statements, statutory reporting schedules and supporting analyses for review.
• Analyze financial results and reconcile balance sheet accounts; resolve routine discrepancies and escalate significant or judgemental matters to the Finance Manager.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting evidence, respond to routine auditor queries and
• track assigned requests through completion under the Finance Manager's coordination.
• Prepare financial information and schedules required for tax compliance, working closely
• with internal teams and external advisers.
• Provide transaction details, reconciliations and supporting documentation for technical
• accounting assessments led by the Finance Manager, and implement approved accounting treatments.

Accounting Controls & Process Support

• Apply Group accounting policies, SOPs and internal controls consistently in closing and reporting work.
• Improve closing, consolidation and reporting processes, including reporting templates and reconciliation procedures.
• Support finance systems and automation initiatives through data preparation, testing and
• reconciliation of outputs.
• Maintain complete accounting records, supporting schedules and audit documentation to support ongoing audit and compliance readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with at least five years
• of relevant experience. CPA/CA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Hands-on experience preparing entity closes, Group consolidation and financial
• statements in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Sound IFRS and accounting fundamentals, including intercompany accounting,
• eliminations and foreign currency translation.
• Experience preparing audit schedules, addressing auditor queries and supporting an
• audit through completion.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to independently prepare work for review, investigate
• discrepancies and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; strong Excel and
• accounting systems skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese to coordinate with
• Group teams and service providers across jurisdictions.
• Commercial closing and consolidation experience is preferred; a combination of audit
• and in-house finance experience, particularly in technology or international groups, is
• advantageous.
