The duties of the General Accountant include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting:
Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial transactions in the accounting system, including journal entries, accounts payable, and general ledger.
Process employee expense reports and ensure proper supporting documentation.
Manage and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
Perform bank account daily and general ledger balances. Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Serve as a liaison with external service providers (banks, tax authorities, government agencies).
Accounts Receivable & Credit Collection:
Issue sales invoices and ensure timely billing to customers.
Monitor customer accounts to ensure payments are received on time.
Perform regular reconciliation of accounts receivable sub-ledger with the general ledger.
Maintain the aging report and follow up on overdue accounts.
Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes with customers in coordination with the Sales.
Taxation & Audit Support
Prepare and submit tax declarations (VAT, PIT, CIT), and other relevant tax reports.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
