Job Description

  • Job Title: GenAI Product Owner
  • Department: GoTymeX
  • Reporting Manager: Andrew Pfaff
  • EE Level of Role: Professionally Qualified & Experienced Specialists/Mid-Management

Overall Purpose of the Role: GoTyme is a multi-country digital bank serving over 20 million customers across South Africa, the Philippines, and Vietnam. We built from the ground up with no legacy systems — and we're scaling fast. AI is central to how we operate. Our dedicated AI & Automation team is actively shipping GenAI products into production across Customer Service, FinCrime, KYC, Operations, Marketing, and the product development lifecycle — as well as more experimental bets. This role sits at the heart of that effort.

Why join us: This is a high-visibility team working on problems that directly impact the business. You'll sit at the intersection of AI and banking — and the AI & Automation team is central to GoTyme's strategy. You'll build experience quickly. We ship often and learn as we go. The field is evolving and so is the role — there's real room to shape what this function becomes as we grow. If you want to be close to the work, not buried in process, this is that kind of environment.

About the role: We're looking for a GenAI Product Owner to join our AI & Automation team. You'll own the product lifecycle for GenAI and AI Agent solutions across the bank—from early experiments through to production deployment. You'll report to the Pod Lead for AI & Automation and work alongside a team of roughly 30 engineers, data scientists, and product people. This isn't a role where you'll watch AI from the sidelines. You'll be hands-on: shaping what we build, working closely with AI engineers, and shipping products that make a real difference for our customers and colleagues. We work in two tracks. Track one is experimentation—rapid PoCs to validate whether an idea is worth building. Track two is production—taking proven concepts and shipping them properly. You'll work across both, which means you need to be as comfortable killing a project in week two as you are grinding through edge cases in month four.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience, with at least 1 year in a product owner or similar product role
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — early-stage AI work means learning as you go
  • Strong communication skills: you can translate between technical teams and business stakeholders
  • A bias toward shipping over perfecting

What you'll bring:

AI product sense

  • You understand that AI products are probabilistic—you can set success criteria for things that won't be 100% right
  • You think about failure modes, edge cases, and user trust as first-class concerns
  • You have strong opinions on prioritisation: what to build now, what to defer, what to kill
  • You care whether users understand what the AI can and can't do AI technical literacy

AI technical literacy

  • You're familiar with core concepts: prompt engineering, RAG, LLM evaluation, agentic frameworks, and the ML lifecycle
  • You can hold your own in architecture discussions—you don't need to build, but you need to reason about build decisions
  • You stay current — this field moves fast and you're keeping up

Nice to have

  • You've shipped AI products to real users (not just internal demos)
  • Experience in financial services or fintech
  • You've worked at a startup or scale-up and know what that pace feels like
  • Familiarity with responsible AI practices in regulated environments

Benefits

  • Meal and parking allowance are covered by the company
  • Full benefits and salary rank during probation
  • Insurances as Vietnamese labor law and premium health care for you and your family without seniority compulsory
  • Performance bonus up to 2 months
  • 13th month salary pro-rata
  • 15-day annual leave+ 3-day sick leave + 1 birthday leave + 1 Christmas leave
  • SMART goals and clear career opportunities (technical seminar, conference, and career talk) - we focus on your development
  • Values-driven, international working environment, and agile culture
  • Overseas travel opportunities for training and working related
  • Internal Hackathons and company's events (team building, coffee run, blue card...)
  • Work-life balance 40-hr per week from Mon to Fri
