Title: Exterior Module Manager
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Department: Vehicle Module Development Institute
Position Context
- Participate to the creation of the VINFAST Vehicle institute, specifically the Exterior engineering department
- Strong focus on mid to long term business and product plans
- Work in a Start-up environment at a quick pace with quick turnaround and decisions
Position Overview
- Lead and build a skilled technical team to support the VINFAST portfolio
- Working in a team environment and possibly with external contractors and suppliers to design or modify vehicle parts
- Lead/Manage and supervise Exterior department and technical associates
- Manage human resources, budget and ensure to deliver programs within the timing, the budget allocated and with quality
- Create/maintain a Exterior organization which can support Vinfast fast growing business and goals
Position Responsibilities
- Drive all Exterior Engineering work on future model programs to meet VINFAST Engineering Requirements and product development timing.
- Support established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies for the department
- Establish and maintain the exterior organization efficiency at each levels (dismiss and hire new staff)
- Find and implement ways to improve cost-efficiency
- Provide technical guidance to top management for strategic decisions
- Coach/train and develop the team to transition to being a full capable engineering team.
- Inspire and lead the team using VINFAST DNA behaviors.
- Report to top management present budgets and plans
- Implement best practice engineering methods
- Oversee day to day business activities
- Conduct performance reviews
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in automotive or related industries.
- Experience on directing a team or department
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical Engineering).
- Demonstrated agility in operating within matrix organizations and teams.
- Highly organized
- Effective communicator and able to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams from different areas of the company and with the key supplier.
- Motivational skills
- In-depth knowledge in Exterior engineering
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and active learner with strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in multi-national relationships.
- Demonstrate a high degree of resilience and ability to deal with high pressure situations using a logical data driven approach.
- Be accountable for delivery and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
