Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing process control, improvement, and development (40%)
  • Manage QRB projects for process and equipment change to ensure release to production (RTP) on time.
  • Provide supports to Front End, Assembly, System and other departments for process and product improvement and development.
  • Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to update procedures, drawings, BOMs and specification control document (SCD) for parts on time to support production properly.
  • Support supply quality engineer (SQE) for qualification of new parts, new suppliers.
  • Identify potential opportunities for process improvement and bring them to attention of area production engineers and supervisors for undertaking with implication of cost saving.
  • Review production processes regularly for updates to solve issues, eliminate potential risks and human mistakes.
  • Train new operators or all operators for procedure updates.
  • Make technical study as assigned and present to team.
  • Manufacturing Process support and Quality control (30%)
  • Ensure new parts undergone First Article Inspection (FAI) before mass production and process conditions are under control.
  • Control processes as ISO requirements and implement actions per ISO or customer audits.
  • Use QC tools to analyze defects and process issues to find out the solutions for problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Set up and re-calculate control limits if needed.
  • Regularly check age control of chemicals and materials and perform testing for shelf-life extension if needed.
  • Ensure action takings on SPC are correct, and review and identify data shift to make improvements.
  • Responding to noted problems proactively in area of expertise. Support and provide inputs for corrective action reports (CAR) and Failure Analysis (FA).
  • Machine, equipment setup and maintenance (20%)
  • Set up and do possible modifications to manufacturing, measuring, and testing equipment programs when needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers and equipment manufacturers to get supports for equipment trouble shooting.
  • Implement internal verification & calibration for equipment when needed.
  • Work with NPI & local machine shops to improve and develop tools, fixture to reduce cycle time, increase productivity and quality.
  • Setup and check process parameters reports from Data Management System (DMS) to make sure data are recorded properly and processes are under right maintenance.

  • SMART goals are set and evaluated upon each year.
  • Actively participate in compulsory and recommended training sessions.
  • Adapt readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.
  • Responsible for maintaining Quality Work Environment housekeeping standards for own work area and community areas.
  • Follow company policy regarding safe work environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in cooperating with others.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's in one of following specializations: Chemical Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering.
  • At least 2 years applicable experience in manufacturing setting relating to trouble shooting of plating or wet chemical processing.

Skills

  • Knowledge of SPC and shop floor control.
  • Knowledge of technical drawing, fixtures, tooling.
  • Experience in process improvement, trouble shooting and equipment management.
  • Computer skills (word processor, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, statistical analysis, etc.)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities.
  • Ability to handle assignments promptly under general instructions.
