Job Purpose:
Lead and oversee the implementation of operational risk management activitiesincluding legal risk, process risk, technology risk, and external risk factorswhile fostering a robust risk management culture throughout the Bank. Ensure that all operational risk practices align with the Banks risk management policies and strategic business objectives. Act as the primary coordinator for risk management and personal data protection initiatives in compliance with relevant legal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Banks operational risk management framework in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices (e.g., Basel framework).
- Analyze emerging operational risk trends and evaluate their impact on the Banks risk profile and strategic development plans.
- Lead the development and enforcement of policies related to fraud risk management, process risk, technology risk, and external risk factors.
- Oversee the design, update, and enforcement of internal guidelines and procedures within the Operational Risk Management Department to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, promoting professional growth and ensuring alignment with the Banks objectives.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, regulators, and external auditors to ensure comprehensive risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Report regularly to senior management and the Board on operational risk exposures, mitigation strategies, and compliance status.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing, Banking, or Law.
- International certifications such as FRM, ACCA, or CIMA are highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operational risk management or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience managing risk in credit institutions, financial organizations, or international institutions; or experience in internal audit or risk consulting at leading independent audit firms.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of operational risk management practices within banks/financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks related to operational risk and data protection.
- Familiarity with international risk management standards and frameworks (e.g., Basel Accords).
- Expertise in operational risk management tools and methodologies applicable to the banking and financial sector.
