Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Director of Air Freight is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and commercial growth of the North Regions Air freight business. This role ensures the development and execution of competitive, customer-focused Air freight solutions that align with the companys logistics strategy and revenue objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Strategic Leadership

Define and implement the long-term vision and strategy for Air freight services of regional.

Monitor global and regional trade trends to position the business competitively.

Drive digital transformation initiatives and sustainable Air Freight practices.

2. Commercial & Business Development

Develop and manage commercial strategies to grow Air freight volumes and revenue.

Build and maintain relationships with key clients, Airlines, and partners.

Negotiate contracts and rates with airlines, ground handlers, and service providers.

3. Operations Management

Oversee end-to-end air freight operations including booking, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery.

Ensure operational excellence, timely shipments, and high service quality.

Implement KPIs and performance metrics to monitor and improve operational efficiency.

4. Airlines and Agents Management

Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with airlines and service providers to ensure reliable capacity and competitive rates.

Negotiate contracts and service agreements, including pricing, space allocation, and performance terms.

Monitor and evaluate partner performance to ensure compliance, service quality, and continuous improvement.

5. People & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Air freight team.

Set clear KPIs and monitor team performance to achieve operational and financial targets.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and customer excellence.

6. Financial Responsibility

Manage the P&L for Air freight business units.

Analyze cost structures, improve profitability, and control operational budgets.

7. Direct report to CEO, and report work to the Board of Directors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 810 years experience in international freight forwarding with deep knowledge of air freight..

University graduation major Foreign Trade, Logistics, Economic, related field.

Specialized skill and experience for Forwarding, Logistics experience, supply chain. Proven leadership in managing large teams and strategic carrier relationships.

Strong understanding of global trade lanes, incoterms, freight rates, and customs compliance.

Excellent command of English (Oral and of written skill).

Excellent business development and sales skills.
