Data Engineer (Azure Synapse, Python & SQL) (2-4 Years Experience) (SG Citizen/PR) (1 Year Contract)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. You will work with technical teams and business stakeholders to transform data requirements into reliable, efficient data workflows that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.

This role is suited for an early-career Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Azure Synapse, Python, and SQL, who enjoys solving data challenges and working across both technical and business requirements.

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows across cloud data platforms.
• Build and optimise data models, transformations, and processing workflows using Python and SQL.
• Develop and maintain data solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and structured for downstream consumption.
• Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipeline performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Support data integration, quality assurance, and documentation activities.

• Up to 4 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, transformation, and pipeline development.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and data integration workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
• Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents preferred.

• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Power BI.
• Exposure to business analysis activities, including requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and process documentation.
• Familiarity with the broader Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory.
