The Role

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join our rapidly growing team of experts in Hanoi. You will also be part of the COP Global Commercial Team, working in a fast-paced and exciting environment with a team of 60 people globally focusing on business case management, bids/auctions, M&A, Market and Business development, offtake and project financing.

This is a new role and exciting opportunity to learn about the renewable energy industry and strategic communications in a professional environment. You will report to the Commercial Development Director and be part of an exciting journey to kick start the offshore wind industry in Vietnam.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Business Case Development: Help develop, maintain, and operate business cases for offshore wind projects.
  • Financial Modeling & Valuation: Support financial modelling and valuation analysis of offshore wind projects.
  • Strategic Support: Support and participate in commercial agreements including offtake, partnerships, M&A etc. Present financial and technical data in compelling ways to help leaders make decisions.
  • Market monitoring: Monitor policies and regulations in energy sector, and support providing commercial input. Research and analyse market fundamentals and competitive landscape.
  • Presentation & Visualizing: Assist preparation of presentation material either to potential partners, and/or government stakeholders.

Your Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the energy sector or related fields including banking, M&A or transaction advisory with a focus on renewable energy.
  • Experience with valuation, business cases, M&A processes and project financing, from the energy sector preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and create clear, compelling presentation materials that support strategic analysis for the commercial team.
  • Strong skills in negotiation and relationship-building.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
