Cloud / Infrastructure Lead Google Cloud Platform

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cloud / Infrastructure Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead the design, implementation, deployment, automation and continuous improvement of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions.

The successful candidate will provide both technical and delivery leadership across complex Digital Transformation (DT), Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and application delivery environments. The role involves close collaboration with technical teams, project leadership, senior management and customer stakeholders, including Director-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Infrastructure Leadership

• Lead the design, implementation and deployment of scalable, secure and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for large-scale enterprise cloud and infrastructure projects.
• Lead cloud automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead the deployment and management of containerised workloads using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Work with Google Cloud KCC, Cloud Build, Cloud Deployment Manager, Terraform, Pulumi and other relevant cloud technologies.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Python and Shell scripting.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure solutions meet required security, performance, availability and operational standards.
• Support Digital Transformation, application delivery and Operations & Maintenance activities.

Service & Stakeholder Management

• Lead collaboration between application teams, project leadership, delivery teams, senior management and customer stakeholders.
• Establish clear priorities and ensure Operations & Maintenance activities are aligned with contractual and service requirements.
• Maintain accountability for end-to-end service delivery and operational outcomes.
• Act as the focal point for escalations relating to incidents, issues and service delivery.
• Monitor and report on service delivery KPIs and progress.
• Prepare project status reports, meeting minutes and action items for project and management reviews.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and customer experience.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders up to Director level.

Business Development & Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify opportunities to expand, enhance or improve services delivered to customers.
• Work closely with Account Managers and relevant stakeholders to develop potential service opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cloud infrastructure and service delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry partners and relevant developer communities.

Team Leadership

• Provide strong technical and operational leadership to project and application teams.
• Ensure key deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and meet customer expectations.
• Promote effective collaboration and integration across technical and project teams.
• Foster a proactive, accountable and solution-oriented working environment.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of overall IT experience, with experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise technology projects, preferably valued at SGD 5 million or above.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in large enterprise environments.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with GCP technologies and cloud engineering practices, including:
• Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• Google Cloud KCC
• Google Cloud Build
• CI/CD technologies
• Google Cloud Deployment Manager
• Terraform
• Pulumi or equivalent Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Python and Shell scripting for automation and infrastructure management.
• Must hold at least one Professional-level Google Cloud certification, such as:
• Professional Cloud Architect
• Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Professional Cloud Developer
• Professional Machine Learning Engineer
• Other relevant Professional-level Google Cloud certifications
• Strong experience across the software development and maintenance lifecycle.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, Digital Transformation or technology transformation programmes.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical and operational issues.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders up to Director level.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with AI technologies, Generative AI, Agentic AI workflows, AI solutioning or LLM optimisation.
• Exposure to AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
• Knowledge of relevant Singapore Government technology standards and guidelines published by GovTech.
• PMP, Scrum Master or other relevant project management certifications.
• Experience working with a System Integrator (SI) or large technology service provider.
• Experience managing developer communities or industry partnerships.
