Job Description
The Doorman for the Grand is responsible for providing lobby welcoming and farewell greeting experience for the guest that is flawless and refined in nature. All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures, as well as within the framework and intent of the Vision of the Grand property.
Responsibilities
- Assist in sustaining a refined, efficient, timely and yet welcoming guest hotel entrance experience.
- Acknowledge, greet and converse with guests who enter the driveway, front entrance and lobby area.
- Be informed of and promote hotel outlets, services and events.
- Connect guests with the Front Desk for check-in/out procedures, Bell Desk for assistance with luggage, Valet for retrieval of cars, Concierge for reservations and referrals, give directions for local travels, and guide guests to the various hotel destinations.
- Expedite and assist in controlling the movement of customers vehicles upon arrival and departure and maintaining a steady flow of traffic.
- Assist customers in securing taxis and other modes of transportation.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of baggage into and out of automobiles.
- Insist luggage and personal belongings of the guest are always treated with the upmost respect, caution and security.
- Store guest baggage upon request.
- Resolve and escalate any guest issues and concerns that may arise.
- Maintains close work relationships with other departments and their leaders to promote feedback and efficient operations.
- Keeps leadership informed on a timely basis of any undue variance from expected results.
- Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
- Ensures all activities performed within the department are in accordance with the companys business objectives, and established safety and security standards.
Job Requirement
Qualification
- One year working experience is preferred.
- Basic Education completed is preferred.
- Microsoft Office knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to communicate fluently in the primary language of the workplace both verbally and nonverbally. Fluent in English is encouraged.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Organized, can multi-task, good problem solving skills and detail-oriented.
