About The Role:
This position focuses 60% on Automation Engineering - designing, programming, and optimizing PLC systems, sensors, and mechanical processes to boost manufacturing efficiency. The remaining 30% focuses on hands-on AI/ML integration, working alongside data science teams to implement smart technologies for predictive maintenance, quality control, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead PLC programming, sensor integration, and mechanical automation improvements
- Develop and implement AI/ML solutions in production and manufacturing systems
- Manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, IT, operations, and vendors
- Plan and execute complex automation projects from concept through delivery
- Mentor and develop a skilled team of automation engineers and technicians
- Collaborate with leadership on automation strategy and digital transformation
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Automation Engineering, especially PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- 3+ years managing automation projects and technical teams
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML applications in industrial or production environments
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, plus additional languages such as C# or Java
- Familiarity with RPA, SCADA, IoT sensor integration, and industrial networking protocols
- PMP or similar certification is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
