Job Overview

The Assistant Manager, Human Resource & Administration will provide hands-on HR support across Vietnam, with primary responsibility for end-to-end employee administration, payroll, personal income tax, statutory insurance, compensation and benefits, HR systems, employee data and compliance. The role supports employees throughout their employment, from recruitment and joining, performance and rewards administration, to offboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end monthly payroll, including input validation, reconciliation, reporting, controls and audit documentation;
  • Manage personal income tax compliance, annual tax finalization, statutory social, health and unemployment insurance, and mandatory labor reporting;
  • Administer employee benefits, insurance, attendance, leave, salary and benefit payments;
  • Prepare employment documents and maintain accurate employee master data, personnel files and HR-system records;
  • Coordinate recruitment, probation, contract renewals, performance management and routine employee matters;
  • Support developmental learning through needs assessment, IDP follow-up, programme recommendations and effectiveness review;
  • Monitor HR operational calendars, statutory deadlines and implementation of HR policies and procedures;
  • Coordinate HR, payroll and statutory audits, regulatory inspections and required management reporting;
  • Manage local onboarding and employee engagement activities;
  • Support HR process improvements, manpower planning and budgeting;
  • Provide employees and managers with advice/ guidance on routine HR operations, payroll, benefits and policy matters;
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc HR projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline;
  • At least seven years of relevant HR experience, with strong hands-on experience in payroll, PIT, statutory insurance and HR operations;
  • Sound knowledge of Vietnam labour legislation, personal income tax and statutory requirements;
  • Experience in HR systems, employee data management, payroll controls, compliance reporting and audits;
  • Strong numerical, analytical and Microsoft Excel skills;
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, ownership and attention to detail;
  • Able to work independently, manage deadlines and escalate material issues appropriately;
  • Good communication, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in spoken and written English;
  • Experience in a multinational environment and expatriate administration would be an advantage.
